Who we are

The WISER Method website is operated by EffectiveSC (“we,” “us,” “our”), a Colorado nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 27-0901658. The WISER Method intellectual property was donated to EffectiveSC by First Strategy LLC. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you visit wisermethod.com.

By using this website, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you email us at [email protected], we receive whatever your email contains. The website has no forms and no accounts.

Information collected automatically. Our host, Cloudflare, processes information about each visit, such as your IP address, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. We measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.

We do not run a marketing email list from this website.

Third-party services

Hosting. The website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes visit information as described above.
Templates. The interactive templates are hosted by Notion and Google. When you open them, their privacy policies apply.
Links. Pages link to other websites, such as booksellers and GitHub. Their own policies apply once you leave this site.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising, retargeting, or social media tracking. Our host may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the website from automated abuse.

Data retention

Email is kept in our inbox until you ask us to delete it. Cloudflare keeps full analytics data for seven days and about a tenth of it after that, and its reports cover the previous six months.

Data security

All data sent between your browser and this website is encrypted with TLS. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You may ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it (subject to legal retention requirements), or to provide it in a commonly used electronic format. Email [email protected], and we will respond within 30 days.

Colorado privacy rights

Where the Colorado Privacy Act applies to our processing, Colorado residents have additional rights under it, including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, email [email protected].

Children’s privacy

This website is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

We do not sell training, certification, or licensing through this website, and we do not take payments on it. The books are sold by third-party retailers under their own terms.

Intellectual property

The WISER Method and the printable practitioner templates are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license. You may use, adapt, and redistribute them on the terms of that license, which requires attribution and share-alike. The open source page has the attribution line.

The license does not cover the books, the WISER name and logo, or the other brand assets on this website. The WISER Method trademark is EffectiveSC’s, donated with the intellectual property by First Strategy LLC. Other content on this website is owned by EffectiveSC or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission, except that you may download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.
